The choral masterpiece to be performed at this year's Festival is Gabriel Fauré's Requiem.
The highly successful Opera/Vocal program, new to the Festival in 2011, brought together students from throughout the U.S. Students perform in concerts and opera scenes. The daily program includes voice lessons and coachings, masterclasses, repertoire classes and scene/concert rehearsals.
Last year's festival included the New York Virtuosi / Kammmermusik, a baroque ensemble led by violinist Dale Stuckenbruck and a community choir led by renowned choral conductor, Alexander Dashnaw. It was also our pleasure to receive, as regular performers of the festival: Valérie Bélanger, soprano, accompanied on the lute and guitar by Harris Becker, and mezzo soprano Barbara Fusco, our voice teacher.
