Individual Lessons: guitar, voice, violin, cello, viola & piano (all levels) |
Individual instruction will be tailored to each students level of proficiency and will include work on technique, interpretation and music fundamentals. Guitar instruction will be available in classical, folk, jazz and rock styles. Voice Lessons will assist each student in realizing his/her vocal potential through instruction in healthy vocal technique. It will also encompass work in developing dynamics, phrasing, breath control, and musicianship skills. | ALL Instruments & Voice |
Performance Class | Students will perform in a public class. A teacher will both moderate and provide masterful guidance in the art of performing. Students will have the opportunity of performing a solo piece during the student concert at the end of the week. | ALL Instruments & Voice |
Chamber Ensemble Class | Student prepares pieces in mixed ensemble with voice, violin, guitar, to be performed in student concert at end of week. Coaching by one of the faculty members. | ALL Instruments & Voice |
Baroque String Ensemble | Open to all string players and led by conductor / violinist, Dale Stuckenbruck. His ensemble "Kammermusik" will form the basis of the ensemble and will recruit young string players from the community. The group will explore the baroque style and will perform as part of a festival concert. | String players, violin, viola, and cello |
Vocal Repertoire Class | Through the use of both popular and classical music, the students will develop stronger communication and musicianship skills. Along with ensemble singing, there will be use of theatre games to help further develop their self-confidence as performers. | Voice Only Section I-ages 8-11, Section II-ages 12-15 |
Community Chorus | Open to all festival participants and community member. The chorus will perform literature chosen by conductor, Alexander Dashnaw and will meet each day for rehearsal during festival week. Audition may be required and fee is not yet set. The group will also perform as part of a festival concert. | Voice |
Guitar Technique Class | Morning warm-up; approaches to left and right hand technique; practice techniques; memorization and sight reading will all be discussed. | Guitarists |
Guitar Ensemble | Participants will be given music appropriate to their level of ability. They will form duos, trios and quartets. Each day there will be an ensemble coaching session where students will learn the intricacies of ensemble playing. At the end of festival students will perform their pieces. | Guitarists |
